DEATH-DAY YEAR ONE...

Only four episodes of DEATH-DAY in one year?!

What gives?  Read on to find out ...

As you can see here, Sam is doing the final inks for Death-Day Episode 04.

This stage might reveal one or two nagging changes- but, unless something crazy happens, everything is really locked in place.

This weekend also marks the anniversary of the mini, which was unveiled at San Diego last year.

BTW- mini stock is running super low, so make sure to pick one up now if you haven't already!  Click here!

The annual plan was to release a 30 page comic online every few months and have a collected novel by the 2010 convention.  (Episode 01 went online Halloween 2009.)

The book was envisioned to contain four 30 page episodes, some design pages, and maybe some behind-the-scenes art.  It would clock in at 140+ pages.

But, a few months back, a problem arose.

Episode 03 was online and we were working on Episode 04.

The script was done.  Sam had sketched 30 thumbnail pages, and we went over them...

The story wasn't working.  It just moved too fast

Sam's solution was to get bigger.  He needed more pages- more room for the pacing to breathe.  Episode 04 grew to 45 pages.

He created new thumbnails.  It was still too quick.

Somehow, 60 pages was the magic number.  Episode 04 is a two-parter, double-sized, twins...

At once, we were both relieved.  The story was back, it worked- but there was no feasible way to get a 60 page book done in time for San Diego.

If he cut back to 30 or 45 pages, we could maybe do it.  But now we had spent more time than we had planned for revision.

Sam decided to focus on the story.

The book will go to the printer as soon as Sam has finished.

Pre-orders will be honored first, and then the remainder of limited edition copies will be up for grabs.

If you haven't pre-ordered yet, reserve your copy of the limited edition at the store!  Click here!

Death-Day has been about quality over quantity.  Is that the right formula for the internet?

Either way, I can't wait for you to get your hands on this book...

Thank you for all of your support this past year.
